Goshala in Bangalore – Giridhari’s Goshala at ISKCON HBR Layout

Giridhari’s Goshala in Bangalore, a unit of ISKCON HBR – Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Giridhari Mandir, is a sanctuary dedicated to the service and protection of cows. Established in 2011 with just 2 cows and 2 bulls, our goshala has now grown into a loving family of 60 cows, calves, and bulls, representing various indigenous breeds  of India.

Cow rearing and cow protection have always been central to the Vaishnava lifestyle, and Giridhari’s Goshala provides a sacred opportunity for everyone to participate in this timeless seva.

A Sacred Transformation:

The land where our goshala stands was once designated for the construction of an abattoir. By Krishna’s divine will, the prayers of devotees, and the support of the local community, this desecration was prevented. Instead of becoming a place of slaughter, it was transformed into His divine abode—a goshala that now radiates peace, spirituality, and protection.

Today, Giridhari’s Goshala is recognized as one of the best goshala in East Bangalore, a spiritual landmark where compassion triumphs over cruelty.

Our Growing Goshala Family:

  • 🐄 Started in 2011 with 2 cows and 2 bulls

  • 🌿 Now home to 60+ indigenous cows, calves, and bulls

  • 🪔 A place for cow protection, adoption, and seva

  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Open to families, schools, and visitors

Our goshala serves as a center for:

  • Daily Go Seva – feeding and caring for cows

  • Adoption programs – monthly, yearly, and lifetime adoption

  • Annadan & donations – supporting the goshala in the name of ancestors or loved ones

  • Festivals & educational tours – connecting the next generation with the importance of cow protection

Expansion – Doddaballapur Goshala

In addition to our East Bangalore center, construction of a new goshala in Doddaballapur is underway. This expansion will allow us to serve and protect even more cows, create awareness about indigenous breeds, and engage the broader community in seva opportunities.

By supporting our goshala projects, you become part of a larger movement of cow protection in Bangalore and beyond.

Offer your Donations to Goshala

Cows are considered sacred in Vedic Tradition and there are many reasons for this. The cow is seen as a maternal figure who provides nourishment and life-giving sustenance. Cows also play an important role in agriculture, providing not only milk but also manure for crops. For these reasons, maintaining a healthy population of cows is essential to the well-being of both humans and the natural world. One way to support cows is through goshala donation. Goshalas are sanctuaries where cows can live out their lives in peace and dignity. Goshalas provide a safe haven for cows who have been abandoned or mistreated. By donating to a goshala, you can help to ensure that these cows have a safe and comfortable place to live. By supporting a goshala, you ensure that the cows are treated with care and respect.

In addition, your donation helps to protect the environment by preserving the cow population. As a result, goshala donation is an important way to support both cows and the natural world.
